The Seribu Islands administration will act decisively to island owners in Seribu Islands. These owners, either individual, groups or company should pay their obligation in form of social and public facilities in accordance with the tax returns payable (SPPT).

At this time, of the 115 islands in Seribu Islands, 5 out of them are missing due to abrasion and it will be observed and then become 11 tourism destination and residential. While the remaining 60 islands controlled by licensing and ownership by private, group, and company, as well as 39 others are empty.

“We are inventorying the business, building, and resort, like in Sepa, Sebira, and Kaliage Islands. Its obligation will be followed up," said Regent of Seribu Islands, Tri Djoko Sri Margianto, Wednesday (4/8).

According to Margianto, besides the infrastructure acceleration that will be repealed in 2016, there would be the arrangement and legality of the island ownership. This is because, from 60 island owners, many of them have not met their obligation since 1990.

“Every island owner have an obligation up to 40 percent, where it should be submitted to the local government in accordance with its designation. Hence, the government will intensively collect its obligation,” he disclosed.
